97,000 euros for son of Diablue PS

Münster: 17 licensed and 10 non licensed stallions were up for sale at the Westphalian stallion sale for young show jumping talents. A total of three quarters found a new owner this afternoon. The total turnover of the jumping stallion sale amounted to around 800,000 euros. A son of Diablue PS, who will move into the Tebbel stallion station, jumped to the top price of 97,000 euros.

27 young talents for show jumping came under Thomas Münch's auction hammer following the 2023 Westphalian main licensing. 17 of them had previously received a positive licensing decision. These included two reserve champions, two 2nd reserve champions and two premium stallions.

A beautiful son of Diablue PS/Balou du Rouet (breeder: Harm Oncken, Sande; Marc Idelmann, Wetschen) jumped to the top price of the day. The eye-catching chestnut stallion impressed on both licensing days with his caution, ability and perfect bascule. He received a positive licensing approval from the committee. The Tebbel stallion station secured the future star at a hammer price of 97,000 euros.

The second most expensive offer of the evening was Hubert Wiesmann's Westphalian-bred son of Faut-il des 7 Vallons, exhibited by SPR Horses GmbH & Co. KG. With the head number 83, he jumped his way into the hearts of the audience. After free-running and free-jumping, he was approved by the licensing commission. His dam is Quel Jolie by Quickly de Kreisker, who was successful in 1.30 m jumping competitions. The bay will travel to Italy at the hammer price of 80,000 euros.

Auctioneer Thomas Münch knocked his hammer down on three licensed stallions at 70,000 euro. Head number 91 was celebrated shortly beforehand in the Westphalian auction hall as the reserve champion of these licensing days. The Sportpferde Beckmann GmbH & Co. KG, Wettringen, discovered the son of Ogano Sitte/Carano (breeder: ZG Schumacher, Verl) at one of the Westphalian online auctions in 2021 and secured the virtual knockdown. Two years later, they can celebrate the sale of the young sire at the hammer price of 70,000 euro. The beautifully presented bay has the best genes for a successful future. His dam S-Calice by Carano has been successful in 1.30 m jumping competitions. The 2nd reserve champion by Durantos RR (breeder: Klaus Rietmann, Coesfeld) with the head number 79 also achieved a knockdown price of 70,000 Euros. His dam, L.St-S Chita Callando by Cornet Obolensky, was also highly successful in competitions. Due to her successes in advanced level competitions, she bears the addition "performance mare". Exhibited by the BG Beckmann and Zurich, the impressive gray stallion will begin his career as a sire at the Warendorf State Stud. The third licensed stallion to achieve a knockdown price of 70,000 euro entered the Westphalian auction hall with the head number 64. The Westphalian son of Carrera VDL/Harley VDL (breeder: G.W. Zuidema van Dam & MB Stables, Netherlands; exhibitor: Mathieu Beckmann, Wettringen) impressed with his type and jumping quality. He descents from an internationally successful dam line and found his new owners in the Czech Republic.

Among the non licensed stallions, head number 87 (breeder: G. Wierts, Netherlands; exhibitor: Klaas Wilting, Netherlands) jumped to the highest bid. Levi VDL/C-Indoctro is the pedigree of this beautiful dark bay. Regular customers from the USA, who had traveled all the way from the USA to Münster-Handorf, fought hard for the favor of the likeable stallion. In the end, they won the bid at the hammer price of 38,000 euros. Together with the dressage horses, these American customers purchased a total of five horses at the Westphalian stallion markets over the last days.

Twelve of the licensed and eight of the non licensed stallions found a new owner this afternoon. The international clientele invested an average of 53,333 euros in the future sire stars. The non licensed stallions found their new owners for an average of 19,500 euros. Overall, the sale of the jumping stallions generated a total turnover of 796,000 euros.

Together with the dressage stallions auctioned on Monday, 30 licensed and 18 non licensed stallions found new owners at this year's Westphalian stallion sale. The Westphalian Studbook can celebrate a total turnover of 3.5 million euros at the end of the main licensing in 2023.
